Matteo Corsini è tifoso laziale ("da ragazzo andavo a fare il supertifoso nelle TV locali, anni fa"), ma è soprattutto l'erede di una famiglia di grandi immobiliaristi e costruttori romani (la famiglia Gra che costruì il Grande Raccordo Anulare) ed alla guida di un gruppo finanziario che vuole comprare la Lazio e anche la Cirio. Ha delle condizioni e delle idee che ci descrive dal suo ufficio a Londra (ha una sede anche a New York, l'uomo che ha venduto Botteghe Oscure ricavandone appartamenti di lusso): "Ho scritto proprio oggi, mentre usciamo allo scoperto per l'acquisto della Cirio e della Lazio, al sindaco di Roma Veltroni e ai presidenti di Provincia, Moffa e Regione, Storace: se ci danno il via libera compriamo la Lazio, costruiamo il nuovo stadio nei 14 ettari di terreno che possediamo alla Bufalotta (dove Cragnotti con Bocchi voleva costruire il suo stadio, ndr) e consentiamo alla squadra di non essere smembrata con giocatori messi in vendita per rientrare dei debiti.
La Lazio può restare una società di vertice, con un gruppo di calciatori valido e di assoluto livello come quello attuale se la compra qualcuno che non sia indebitato con le banche. Noi non chiediamo soldi a Capitalia né a nessun altro istituto bancario italiano, abbiamo il sostegno di un partner importante del quale non voglio rilevare il nome ora e stiamo cercando una cordata di imprenditori interessata al business calcistico, ma in special modo alle possibilità di sfruttare a livello commerciale un nuovo stadio o la stessa edificabilità di Formello.
I soldi ci sono, questo messaggio lancio ai tifosi: se poi i loro amministratori si dimostreranno indifferenti alla nostra offerta, sapranno come giudicarli.
La situazione di Lazio e Cirio non è così drammatica come si dice e noi sappiamo anche dove andare a cercare i 500 milioni di crediti infragruppo che le banche cercano. L'Olimpico? Che resti il grande stadio dell'atletica. I politici ci diano una risposta in tempi decenti e noi facciamo l'affare.
Ho 500 milioni di euro per la Cirio, ma in ogni caso l'ipotesi di comprare la Lazio io non la mollo.
Come pagare gli stipendi di una Lazio da vertice: uno stipendio più un gruzzolo di azioni legate alle vittorie. I nomi contatati da Capitalia? Noi non abbiamo bisogno di banche, se ci danno l'ok, abbiano i soldi e sappiamo come farli anche con la Lazio. La fine della Florentia, la Lazio non la farà". Intorno all'riuscita di Corsini c'è scetticismo nel club, anche se Corsini ha già fatto pervenire la sua manifestazione di interesse all'advisor Livolsi che si sta occupando di piazzare i pezzi della Cirio.
Con Corsini negli ultimi mesi si sono consorziati in cordate che hanno acquisito l'intero patrimonio immobiliare dell'Unipol alcuni imprenditori come Alfio Marchini, il presidente della Ternana, Agarini, e l'ex numero uno di Montedison, Garofano, che trattò con Cagnotti ai tempi di Enimont. Intanto Capitalia prosegue nella sua ricerca alternativa all'ipotesi Corsini: ai nomi Benetton, Bertarelli e Gnutti si sarebbe aggiunto quello del patron di Luna Rossa, Bertelli.

Matteo Corsini is a fan of Lazio football club ("Some years ago, when I was young I went on local TV to watch Lazio's matches, ") but he is especially the heir of a family of great builders and real estate agents of Rome ( the Gra family built the Grande Raccordo Anulare) and he heads a financial group who wants to buy Lazio football club and Cirio too. He has some conditions and some ideas which he describes to us from his office in London (he has also a branch office in New York, the man who sold Botteghe Oscure and obtained luxury apartments). He said, "Today I wrote to the mayor of Rome, Mr Veltroni, and to the administrator of the Rome province, Mr Moffa, and to the administrator of the Lazio region, Mr Storace, whereas we declare our interest to purchase Cirio and Lazio. If they give us the green light, we buy Lazio, we build the new stadium on the 14 hectares of field that we have near Bufalotta (where Mr Cragnotti with Mr Bocchi wanted to build their stadium) and we spare the team splitting and the sale of the players.
Lazio can remain at the top, with a good group of players if it is bought by somebody who has not dues with the banks. We don't ask for money neither to Capitalia nor to another Italian banking institution, we have the support of an American monetary fund, I want to keep the secret about its name, and we are looking for a concert party of businessmen interested in football business, especially in the chances to profit by the new stadium or by the building of Formello area.
"We have money, I leave this message to the fans, then if their administrators will not accept our offer, they know how to judge them.
The Lazio and Cirio situation is not so bad as we know, and we know also where we can look for 500 million of euro that is the infra-group credit of the banks. The Olimpic stadium? It can remain the big stadium for the athletics. If politicians give us an answer, we carry out the transaction.
I have 500 million of euro for Cirio, but in any case, I don't leave the hypothesis to buy Lazio.
How to pay salaries with Lazio at the top? A salary besides a shareholding connected to the victories. The names considered by Capitalia? We don't need banks, and if we have the green light, we have money and we know how to make money with Lazio too. Lazio will not come to a bad end like Florentia." The club is skeptical about Mr Corsini success, even if Mr Corsini has sent his interest declaration to Mr Livolsi, the advisor charged of place the Cirio pieces.
In the last few months some businessmen as Alfio Marchini, Mr Agarini, president of Ternana football club, and Mr Garofano, the former administrator of Montedison, who dealt with Mr Cragnotti in Enimont case, have created a concert party to buy the whole Unipol real estate portfolio. In the meantime, Capitalia goes on with its alternative research to Corsini proposal: in addition to Mr Benetton, Mr Bertarelli and Mr Gnutti there is Mr Bertelli, Luna Rossa's owner.
